About Dr. Preston D. Cherry, CFP®
I am a flat-fee financial advisor in Houston working with Gen X professionals, executives, and oil & gas leaders navigating retirement, tax strategy, and investment decisions. At Concurrent Wealth Management, we provide integrated financial planning and investment management for a transparent, dollar-based flat fee, not a percentage of assets. This approach helps clients avoid the long-term fee creep common with traditional 1% AUM models while making more confident decisions about their financial future.
I’m the author of Wealth in the Key of Life, host of the Financial Harmony™ Podcast, and a media contributor featured in Kiplinger, Investopedia, MarketWatch, and other national outlets.
My work focuses on helping clients align their financial decisions with their lives, not just their portfolios. Many of the people I work with have built significant wealth but are still asking deeper questions: Can I retire early? Am I making the right decisions with my equity compensation? How do I balance enjoying life now with long-term security? My role is to bring clarity, structure, and confidence to those decisions through a comprehensive, planning-first approach.
Wealth reflects more than strategy. It reflects identity, values, and how you want to live your life.
I’m Dr. Preston D. Cherry, CFP® professional and Founder of Concurrent Wealth Management, a flat-fee fiduciary firm serving high-income Gen X professionals, business owners, and oil & gas leaders.
Concurrent Wealth Management is an independent, flat-fee fiduciary firm providing all-inclusive financial planning with integrated investment management, priced as a transparent flat dollar fee based on complexity and value delivered, not as a percentage tied to portfolio growth.
My approach is grounded in Financial Harmony™, a framework that integrates financial planning, behavioral finance, and money psychology to help clients make aligned, confident decisions across retirement, tax, and investment strategy without sacrificing life today.
With a Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning, experience as a CFP® professional and financial therapist, and years of direct client work, I bring both evidence-informed depth and practical strategy to people navigating complex financial lives and transitions.

Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
